Freedom and Fashion-Indian Bridal Fashion week 2014

If you dig into the skull of what fashion means in today's date & time, you will realize that Fashion is an expression, expression of uniqueness, expression of identity, expression of Freedom!
Because Fashion is more than just breaking conventions. It's the art or language of freedom incessantly.

While I witnessed one of the biggest celebration of this Freedom at IBFW, my thoughts about Fashion & Freedom just got affirmed. While the new age designers defy the rules & break conventions with aplomb.

It's interesting to see how lucidly these visual storytellers who are the enthusiastic designers knit their stories in themes with Music adding to you personal experience while you watch these fashion shows & here are the raw snippets for you to see the extravaganza through our lens.

These are shots Day 3 from Azva's show which showed beautiful sparkling gold jewellery & promising structured collection in Pristine whites, peaches and black dominated palette.

Nargis Fakri, showstopper wore gown with a cape designed by Nikhil Thampi.

A Peacock bride is a traditional bride with an edge. The designers' bridal collection was a wild take on vintage with beautiful biker jackets, quirky motifs and cascading capes in antique tone on tone embroidery.

These pictures come in late due to my tight scedules , but better late than never.

IFFD Grand Finale Fashion Show.

A day when just a call makes your day , your friend calls you to invite to the Grandeur of Fashion show hosted by her Institute as she is a Fashion design student & it couldn't have been better, I say.

Here you detour the amazing canvas of colors and silhouettes showcased by various ace designers.
IFFD Finale Fashion Show on August 31st, Friday at The Grand, Vasant Kunj.

The participants of the Fashion Show included Pam Mehta, Rosy Ahluwalia, Sagarika Mittal Goel, Woods by Woodland and Daniel Syiem.

Stunning Barkha Kaul was the show stopper for designer duo  Amit Talwar and Sumit Sawhney and sizzled in the beautiful Sawariya necklace ornamented with real kundan crafted by Designer Sumit Sawhney.

The fused hand painted miniatures over gemstones that are framed with real kundan really made us awe . Handcrafted in silver with precious and semiprecious gemstones with 22kt Gold layering, Sumit Sawhney passionately recreated the era of deep attraction and pure love with this collection. The innovative jewelry designer used festive colors like, red, the color of passion and love, lapis blue and turquoise, color of Krishna. Stone carvings of the idol in red coral framed and ornamented around gemstones had a dramatic charm to them and created a majestic aura. The collection also included a few pieces portraying Kanha or Bal Krishna in oxidized frames.

The detailing of the jewellery is outstanding

The mesmerizing kundan piece

Another stunning creation with Rich color and embellishments
IFFD also honoured industry members for their commitment to the fashion industry in a glamorous award ceremony. Woods by Woodland received the Footwear & Accessories Brand of the Year Award, Rosy Ahluwalia was presented with the Emerging Designer of the Year Award, Atelier was honoured with the Best Fashion Coverage (Magazine). SBJ House of Luxury bagged the Best Store of the Year Award, Coochie Coo was awarded the Best Kidswear Brand of the Year, Ketan Bhatia was presented with the Fashion Choreographer of the Year Award. A couple of other awards were also given out at the event.

I personally loved Rosy Ahluwalia's striking color combinations which graced the ramp , detailing like the netted duppattas with big gold lace borders & ruffled long anarkalis had us hooked. Creativity splendour which made me loved the entire showcased collection .

You can check out this video I covered of her collection:
